OUR SCAVENGER HUNT WAS A SUCCESS!!
By Sandy Brandvold
It was hard to tell who had the most fun as they visited about their adventure. John Freeman spoke about sinking in the mud when he attempted to reach the very wet Stupa bench! Everyone agreed that one was the most difficult to get to in our unusually wet week. However, he said it was well worth it for the gorgeous Navajo pot donated by Kachina House.
Christine Schneider had seen a request for tiles for the benches in the Sedona Wish List, and donated some. She wanted to see the results! She won a facial by Patricia Wheat for her efforts!
Joanne Puzak followed the Path to learn more about her new home town, and came away with 2 tickets to Chamber Music Sedona!
Terry Laby, another Sedona Red Rock News reader, thought the hunt was a perfect outing for her visiting family. Her son recently returned from deployment in Afghanistan and while in town, they decided the hunt would be a perfect family adventure. Seven year old grandson Vinny won 2 passes to Out of Africa, insuring an additional family visit! Laby won a handmade necklace from Artistic Jewelry by Heather Molans.
Criquette Clark and two friends found all 16 benches, but Clark submitted the winning entry form and won the mosaic heart garden stone handcrafted by Lenore Hemingway.
Marsee Skidmore felt that the benches inspire creativity as well as kindness. Her effort paid off in the form of a relaxing massage from New Day Spa.
A lover of adventure, Mary Brosnahan walked the walk and came away with a $75 gift certificate from El Rincon! She thanked SedonaKind for creating the hunt for “us big kids!” Brosnahan thinks the “magical” mosaic benches are a must-do tour for visitors and locals alike! Other winners were Brandi Adamson with a Pink Jeep Tour for 2; Sharon Haizmann with 2 tickets to Out of Africa; and Robert Garrison who won both a haircut and a Cowboy hat.
Something I didn’t expect: almost all of those that didn’t win a prize still sent me a nice email about what taking the Hunt meant to them, and praising SedonaKind for the gift given to the community.
