Board Of Directors

Christs McAuliffe said, “I touch the future. I teach.” I spent 36 years working in secondary education in the public school systems in greater Cincinnati, Ohio and two years in Wilmington, NC. The majority of my career was in the classroom, with the last 8 years as a high school administrator. My passion has always been working with students who are traditionally underserved. We retired to Sedona during the summer of 2021. There is nothing like trying to get involved in the community in the middle of a pandemic! SedonaKind was recommended to me as an organization where I could continue working with the schools. In addition to serving on the Board, I am also the chairperson of KIS, Kindness in Schools. As an educator, my leadership rexperiences, especially building principal, have prepared me for my roles with SedonaKind. I have led high schools through strategic planning, development of core values and positive behavior support systems, parent focus groups for school improvement and many district level committees around school improvement. First and foremost, I am a mom of two wonderful, independent women, a wife to Bob, with whom I am fortunate to be on this amazing journey, and a dog mom to our golden retriever, Emmy. I am very grateful to have found SedonaKind!

I grew up in Southern California and Southern Oregon, where I had the privilege of teaching kindergarten for 35 years. When I was 12 our family vacationed here and I knew this is where I wanted to live. After retiring in 2010, my husband and I relocated to Verde Santa Fe, where I have embraced a fulfilling lifestyle filled with hiking, reading, gardening, and traveling. Most importantly, I cherish the time spent with my three children and six grandchildren.
In addition to my personal pursuits, I have a strong passion for volunteering. I am an active member of the Verde Valley Archaeology Center and volunteer at Red Rock State Park, where I lead hikes and engage with school groups through the Park’s Connections Program. My love for nature extends to Slide Rock State Park, where I work in the orchard, participating in tree trimming, planting, and harvesting, as well as serving as a docent for the historical Pendley Orchard.
Since 2010, I have also contributed to the Sedona International Film Festival, initially running the Mary Fischer Theatre for ten years and now co-managing the VIP Lounge. Additionally, I volunteer weekly as an usher at the theatre. In 2023, I joined SedonaKind, furthering my commitment to community service.

I am a New York native transported to Sedona, AZ in 2000. Soon after arriving I realized that my dedication to the task at hand and my organizational skills, fine- tuned while Director of Corporate Events at Computer Associates, would serve me well in volunteering in this beautiful community. I served as KidZone Chairwoman for the Sedona Arts Festival for 6 years and joined the Trauma Intervention Programs of Arizona (TIP) in February 2007. My experience and training as a TIP National Trainer, made me uniquely qualified to jointly develop the Advocate Training for the Arizona Crisis Team (ACT). I served on the TIP Board from 2011 to 2017, at which time I joined the ACT Board. After all these years I am thrilled to belong to such an amazing organization where my passion – crafts – can be put to good use! My husband Harry & I have been together for 38 years and have two wonderful sons, the best daughters-in-law and 6 amazing grandchildren.
