If you know someone who takes care of a friend or loved one, then you know someone who probably could use a lift. Below are some ideas to get you started. Let us know how it made you feel to help a Caregiver
Cook him/her a meal and deliver it to relieve the chore of preparing dinner
Offer to pick up prescriptions for the person who is getting care and deliver them
Write him/her a letter to thank them for sacrifices and perseverance
Pick up his/her children and take them to whatever after-school appointments or events that are on the calendar
Gather a group of friends to decorate their home for the holidays
Ask if you can help with any needed yard work, or home repairs
Deliver a plate of their favorite cookies – then stay to chat for a bit
Help tutor their children, or take over some books they might want to read
Grab a couple of board games or a deck of cards and stop by for an evening of play
Get your kids or grandkids to draw encouraging messages on the sidewalk outside their home in chalk
Ask if they might need assistance paying bills or answering calls/emails
Buy a gift card to their favorite restaurant – or offer to take them out
Send, or drop off a bouquet of flowers to brighten their day
Drop off some movies or CD’s for their enjoyment
Hire a credentialed massage therapist to make a house call
Pick up several days’ worth of groceries and drop them off at the house
