Kindness by Kids

Lou Ann Bruck is a kid at heart.  She has never lost her sense of wonder.  She believes in magic and she loves all the little people of the Earth, including the Menehune, Leprechauns and fairies.  She still has a sense of hope that things will work out well and they usually do.  She brings this childlike quality and exuberance to the Yoga classes she teaches at the Sedona Charter School.

Almost every week she gathers them together and they learn the art of being still and connecting with their beautiful inner selves.  Her students range from first to third grade.  During the mindfulness time in class, the children were asked the ways that they would show kindness to others. One student said he would help some other student with their studies.  Another would not wake her mom at four a.m. anymore, so her mom could sleep better.  One girl would be kind to her sister, rather than mean! One other said when he got older; he would join the Marines and protect our country and his family.

There are many ways of being kind and making the world a more loving place.  Lou Ann has been doing it all of her life and now she has her students focused on loving kindness too!

Thomas Bruck has been sharing Universal principles for more than forty years.  In the nineties, he lead a spiritual group in the village of Oak Creek named Spirit.  He loves to sing and perform in musicals.  He played Professor Harold Hill in the local production at the Sedona Art Center.  He writes a blog on Facebook everyday titled Heart to Heart.  His blog encourages people to go within and get in touch with their true self and then take action to make the world a better place.  He and his wife Lou Ann, have been madly in love for thirty five years.  They are currently volunteers at the Illuminate Film Festival.  Their website is positiveplace.com
